It is important to us that we used naturally derived ingredients as much as possible. This glossary describes all of these additional key natural ingredients found in our skincare products; and why they are so good for your skin.
Calendula

Carrot Oil

It has antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which combined help protect the skin from premature ageing. It is a natural, soothing moisturiser.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a flowering plant from the daisy family. It contains antibacterial and antiseptic properties, and helps to soothe and calm irritated skin.
Cherry Blossom
Cherry Blossom is the name of the flower of the cherry tree, or Sakura originally from Japan. The extract from these blossoms when used in skincare crèmes penetrates deep within the top layer of our skin and helps prevent the production of melanin (also called pigment) that makes up the colour of your skin. Melanin occurs naturally in your skin, but sometimes over production occurs (usually caused by exposure to the sun) which causes darker patches of skin, or pigmentation. The reduction in the production of melanin means these darker patches of skin will disappear over a period of time.
Clove Oil
Clove Oil comes from the flower bud of the Clove tree. It is rich in minerals such as Vitamin A and Vitamin C and has proven anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant and anti-viral properties.
Collagen
Collagen is a moisture retaining protein that rejuvenates and replaces protein back into the skin. This helps the skin retain moisture, thereby giving it a more youthful appearance. Collagen also promotes healthy cell renewal, elasticity, resilience and tone leaving the skin soft and healthy. The depletion of collagen in our skin leads to the formation of wrinkles and the occurrence of other signs of ageing – which is clearly why replacing it is so popular in the nearly continuous fight against the visible signs of growing old. You have heard of collagen implants in lips – with the resulting plump, lush look? Collagen in skincare works in a similar way – it plumps up the skin in and around wrinkles making them appear less visible.
Cucumber
The cucumber’s flesh is mostly water, but it also contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and caffeic acid – these nutrients help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling - which is the primary reason cucumber has been a “skin care” product since the beginning of time, and particularly beneficial in treating the delicate skin around the eyes.
